January 2026 Quick Update

Happy New Year and welcome to all visiting this site. Olivers Battery Countryside Group had a timely Christmas present given to us by the Parish Council. This present was the cutting down of six dead Wych Elm trees over or just before the Christmas period. These trees presented a potential risk to the public especially as the footpath through the conservation area was close by.

We are very grateful to Olivers Battery Parish Council for doing this work for us as the group do not have the expertise for undertaking this type of work

The contractors who undertook the work kindly left the logs and the cuttings in neat piles around the site. These will be used as much as possibly as wildlife habitats.

We will still need to do some work on the site in January and a date will be announced in a follow up to this notice (with photos of the conservation area in snow).
