February Update

An update following our brilliant efforts in January

Thank you to everybody who turned out for our work party on the 31st, and especially to Ethan who join us for the first time. Bramble clearance, scything, some clearing of the wood left from the felling of some dead Wych Elm was accomplished The trimmed branches from the dead Wych Elms can now be used for kindling, or for natural breakdown by insects and fungi. This was a very satisfactory morning for all, and the rain held off until almost the end! Just before we finished we planted the disease resistant Elm tree that the Rotary Club of Winchester kindly donated to us. In the picture below is the tree about a week afterwards with your Editor in the picture.

Another work party is planned soon, please contact us via the contact tab on the front page if you are interested in joining us.
