Apologies for the lack of recent information, the current sole news provider has been very busy.
In late August our two scythe qualified members went to work on the meadow, very ably assisted by other members of the group and we all had a very satisfying morning with the sound of scythes swishing through the vegetation on a lovely sunny and warm day.(photos below)
In September two of our group Jan and Garry kindly stepped in to keep our tradition of entering a scarecrow in the Olivers Battery Annual Scarecrow Competition. We won a highly commended certificate for our entry ” The Latest Recruit- start ’em young”. A brilliant idea Jan and Garry, and thank you very much indeed for undertaking this project. (photos below)
Later this month another work party is planned, further scything is required, and more clearing where the scythes cannot go will be needed. Dates to follow on the website later.
