Happy New Year to All
Like all New Years today becomes an opportunity to start things afresh. For a large part of last year, we have had a minimum of activity on both the web site and the physical site and not much to report during this time. However, we were very lucky in the autumn that a few of our volunteers managed to scythe the meadow which was the area most in need of some attention at this time.
However, the New Year has begun and we do need a couple of work parties to prepare the site for the spring and the growing season! We have set aside Saturday 13th January and Saturday 27th January 2024 for two work parties this year. Other work parties may be arranged following these. We will meet at the entrance to the conservation area, and for both days we aim to start from 10:00am and finish about mid-day. The first session will be bramble cutting, removing a few overhanging and dead branches on so-on. We will also use the time to assess what coppicing may be required and any other more significant work. The session on the 27th will involve coppicing.
If you are interested in volunteering for these work parties please contact me by phone (01962 842610) or via email (martkeys14gmail.com) for further essential information.
